CHRIZZ HOLMES Chrizz Holmes was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but L-Town raised him; that’s Lawton, Oklahoma. Chrizz had it rough from birth. Growing up without a mother, being raised by his grandmother, and a father who was there but basically non-existent, Chrizz felt his only guidance was the streets. In Junior High School, Chrizz began rapping with some of his best friends, that’s when he realized his love and talent for making music. But temptation got the best of him. He was in and out of trouble and getting into any action he could. By the time he was 16, he was sent off the Little Rock, Arkansas, where he quickly embraced the gang banging lifestyle. He had to get away. He later left and took his journey to Louisiana where he was able to get in touch with the mother he hasn’t known or seen in over 16 years. While on his journey, he got to witness, experience, and embrace many people’s stories which inspired him and made him fall back in love with his true calling; his music. Now residing in Kansas City, Missouri where he reunited with his mother and got to bond with his other side of his family, he also met and formed a great bond with girlfriend and business partner Santina Vega and her brother, Rico Ricardo where they birthed Yo Vega Ink, LLC. His grind has not decreased. He’s done numerous shows and events, opening up for major artists such as: Young Bleed, Lil Flip, Brother Lynch Hung, The Lox, and more. Also, with the help of his extended family Ms. FeFe (N.A.B.), he required a digital distribution deal through Sony Music and Rhino Silver Entertainment and is now being pushed and promoted worldwide. Artist Spotlight: Grieves

During my show, The Subterranean, I strive to look for and play artists who deserve it. And every once in while, you find a musician that is over-flowing with a new sound, new flow, and better beats.

Grieves is a Seattle based rapper and hip-hop artist. In 2008, he teamed up with producer Budo to release the next two full-length albums by Grieves. His latest album, Together/Apart was released in 2011 and is currently signed to Rhymesayers Entertainment. Why I'm bringing him up at this time is because he just ended his Back On My Grizzly tour with Sweatshop Union. Even without a new album he's on the grind. He is constantly connected to his fans by updating his blog himself, making video updates, and touring without a new album! As an underground artists connecting with fans is the most important activity you can do (besides releasing great music).

Grieves' music style ranges from sexy and sultry (https://soundcloud.com/rhymesayers/grieves-what-you-need), to nostalgic (Light Speed), to surprisingly real (He Won't Answer). In Together/Apart he explores daily human emotions and how an individual is constantly pushing and pulling to get through life. Themes of addiction, growing up, and fighting for what's right are all embedded in these tracks. Grieves accomplishes something that's crucial as an artist: to make your listeners feel as if they're not alone with their issues.

Here's a live version of the single "Sunny Side of Hell" performed at Seattle based radio station KEXP. In this performance Budo plays guitar live and Grieve's vocal are superb. Give the skinny white kid a listen and I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised.

With a life steeped in music and performance, Kiirstin Marilyn isn't just at home on the stage - she was born to it.

    After a childhood focused on theater and dance-culminating with a B.A. in musical theater and an extended role in a nationally touring Broadway revival of Cabaret-Kiirstin entered the world of live, original music in 2005 by joining Hoboken-based progressive rock band Ground To Machine. In 2007, with Kiirstin as their lead, GTM won the Break Contest, earned a place on the Bamboozle stage, and even played the Saints & Sinners festival headlined by Glassjaw.

    Inspired by 2007's success and looking to grow as an artist, Kiirstin left Ground To Machine and formed her band, Verity In Stereo-a genre-bending jazz/rock quintet that achieved much local success. Verity In Stereo repeatedly headlined Asbury Park's legendary Stone Pony, opened for Cobra Starship and 3OH!3 for the finale of MTV's Too Fast For Love Tour, enjoyed regular air play on college, internet, and commercial radio (including a spotlight feature by 95.9 WRAT's Maria Mar), were nominated for the 2011 Best Avant-Garde Asbury Music Award (Kiirstin was also nominated for Best Female Vocalist), and named RAW:NYC's Band of the Year for 2011.True to her inimitable, boundless ambition, Kiirstin closed a year of great achievement by enlisting the producing talents of Brian Denevee (From Autumn To Ashes) and Todd Weinstock (Glassjaw) for her solo project, an intensely personal venture that nonetheless defies the notion of genre boundaries. Mixing big-band orchestration, hip-hop percussion, R&B melodies, and vocals that soar from Jazz Age crooning to heartbreaking intimacy and everything between, Kiirstin has crafted a sound as eclectic and remarkable as the woman herself-deeply grounded in musical history yet endlessly inventive, Kiirstin Marilyn promises to be like nothing you've ever heard before and won't ever forget.

Greze a.k.a Greze Gutta of Gutta Gang. The 618 is his home, he grew up in Washington Park better known as Challey Park. 

Greze started rapping several years age, he originally started out battle rapping against other artist in the St. Louis area. During that time he hosted his own hip hop show "Tuesday Night Grind". It wasn't until 2005 that he wrote his first track and he has been unstoppable since!!! 

Greze's hard work has earned him features on Ohio HipHop Blog and in Mamarazzi Entertainment Magazine. He has done songs with Raw Resse and several other artist out of the St Louis area. He has also performed at the Meet the DJ event in Kansas City, MO and was one of the featured artists at the Get to Know the DJ event in Wichita, Kansas. He has since participated in the first MixShow Live 2012 in Dallas, hosted by The Core DJ's. Greze has most recently opened up for Treal Lee and Prince Rick and anticipates his June 2012 performance in St Louis at the highly recognized "SlumFest", in which he plans on performing his newest single "Super Weak". His new single has received high reviews earning him a first week win on the FreshorMess Indie Spotlight on StreetzRadio.com. Two of his singles, "Limelight" and "Super Weak" have been picked by DJ Swayd Go Hard Hip Hop Pick of the Week. He has a strong lyrical range and has been compared to major mainstream artists. Be on the lookout for Greze, he will be a breakthrough artist!!!
